Title: Drawings of my travels in UnReal.
Post by: Filip on June 08, 2017, 05:23:09 PM
HI,

I didn't know where or how to post this, so it's going here.

Last Inktober 2016 I did a series of drawings, and from the 16th October to the 23rd they are inspired by UnReal World and a few characters I was playing with then.

Please feel free to comment and discuss.

Thanks,

Filip

Gorgeous! I particularly like the shaman from 21 October - very cool.

The ink-wash look really captures the feel of the game for me - kind of a hazy look back into prehistory. Thanks for sharing!

Really good. I have been trying my hand at drawing lately and it's really requires time.

Thank you for the kind words. I'll post some new stuff when I have some UnReal related works :) Drawing does take time, but I limited myself for these to one hour per day, and had roughly 40 hours during the month to make them.

Thanks for sharing, Filip!
Those are really, really moody drawings and for me it's very cool to see game experiences coming out in a different form of art.

Keep posting, if you come up with mroe.

They are beautiful. I really enjoyed the pictures. Especially the picture drawn on October 17th. It reminds me my seal hunting in URW.

Hi again,

I stumbled upon this article, I though it would be fun for this community.

That was an incredibly intriguing article, thank you for sharing! I'm not Finnish myself, but I did grow up in the woods with my grandparents (never left the woods, really lol) and I know that deep, spiritual connection to the forest permeates my very existence

Also, I love your drawings :)

Wow, just wow.
This pictures really make me want to play more URW. It's nice, to just sometimes stop and imagine how the situation you are currently in would really look, if it wasn't a game. I feel like I don't do this often enough. I also especially love the one with the seal (although I've never been a sucessful seal hunter myself, that's still on the list of things I really want to roleplay) and the ones with the traps. These situations, where you encounter an animal near your trap... and you just wait and hide and don't dare to move... Sometimes I feel like I'm way too attached to this game :D

Hi there,

so this year I did not do any UnReal inspired art during my Inktober, but I hope you're interested in seeing it anyways.

Thank you for a bit of your time Unreal community,

F

Just looked at the pics myself. Each of the unreal world ones I could recognize as things like my characters have gone through too. The stead building one, that is the one where (s)he is about to cut down a tree, felt like what Novrus has recently gone through.

One feedback, other than they are all so awesome:
The bow hunting scene. It seemed to show 2 male deer with antlers walking beside each other. Male deers with antlers would be rut and not like hanging out with each other. Reindeer though do have antlers on male and female and travel in herds. If those were reindeer the antlers would have a different shape.
