Title: Greetings
Post by: jonottawa on February 09, 2020, 07:25:45 PM
Hello, I just wanted to say I absolutely love this game. I discovered it about a month ago and I'm totally addicted. I'm sure that eventually it will grow stale (like delicious roasted elk cuts) but today is not that day.

I was so distraught when a hare ran away with my masterwork javelin and the trail went cold, I looked for that thing for days ... and then I got my first dog ... javelin shmavelin (okay, I still want that javelin back.) And then my first dog, who I'd hunted with for months, was killed by a Njerpez ... I was as gutted as my dog.

Just now my 2nd dog was killed by wolves (I figured me and a dog and a hunting buddy could take on a wolfpack) along with the companion I hired to complete the tutorial. Hurt a lot less, I hadn't been through much with this dog.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Enjoy it mate, I still play the game after many years, but there are people here on the forum that played it since the world begun.

lol... I learned a hard lesson when I sent my first dog in pursuit of a hare and he never came back! Never even seen a Masterwork Javelin.

You're gonna have fun, mate. Enjoy!

I bet on the wolves, due to AI mechanics dogs and companions will chase enemies with no way to recall them. Wolves are some of the toughest things to fight. They attack and and flee and then turn about and attack again. They will pull your companion away and tag team him dead.
