Title: [not a bug] Swimming fox
Post by: Míriel on January 22, 2020, 10:40:49 PM
I'm not sure if it is a bug or an unusual feature. Can foxes swim in the game? I saw a fox in deep water and later it came close to shore but got stuck before the edge, maybe because it couldn't pass the shallow water. I think it got to the middle of the lake when it was iced over and when the ice melted it didn't drown ???

Thank you, PALU and Sami, for the fast replies. One of the things I like about Unreal World is that it emulates the impresivibility aspect of life very well, I've never seen a fox swim before. Also, I have the save of the fox stuck next to the shore if you would like to examine, Sami.

Animals can swim, yes. However, if it's too cold (like when the ice breaks under them), they'll eventually die of hypothermia if they don't manage to get back out of the water, either onto the ice or to the shore. The exception to this is owned dogs and companions, that usually (but not always...) follow the PC by swimming if the PC is out on a craft.

Not a bug when it comes to swimming as pretty much all the animals, except maybe for non-aquatic birds, can swim.
What might have stopped this fox by the shore is another thing. If it happens again, and feels like there's something wrong, then just post another report.
