Title: Now that bears hibernate...

Are bear winter fur pelts only to be found by searching out the hibernating bears in caves during winter now? Or, are they considered 'winter fur' in late fall and early spring, too?

Late fall >< early spring furs are winter furs too. The period is something like from dirt month (october), till the end of pearl month (february).
