Title: Boiled Beverage Question
Post by: Labtop 215 on June 12, 2025, 12:01:49 AM
So for different effects like increasing your appetite from sorrel, sedating your self with heather, or re-invigorating yourself with bear pipe...

Does it matter how much of the source herb or root you boil for the effect?  Like for instance, do I get a more sedative heather tea if I use tons of heather?  Do I get more energy the more bear pipe beverage I drink, or is the effect a static one?

I know that if you are poisoned and it may be deadly, you need to eat as many de-toxicants as you can.  The herbs that give you an appetite help you to eat more de-toxicants, and it seems to work.

This suggests that effects are cumulative; but when doing multiple bear pipes or magic mushies I have not noticed cumulative effects.  I'm high as a kite, but only for a few hours.

So yeah, not much help, really  :D

The only one I can speak to is Bear Pipe and as far as I can tell it doesn't matter how much you use, it just gives you a one time boost of energy. Any more taken during the same day is just wasted. I used to carry a skin of it and it didn't matter if I gulped a bunch or took a tiny sip either way it would move me a step or two up in energy.

I often drop a little bit of Bear Pipe (counts as Vegetable, I think) into soup or stew, and it feels like the entire soup becomes as invigorating as a beverage from this. That suggests the invigoration was implemented as an either/or factor, not a fluid thing depending on substance concentration.

Might be a little less realistic, but I came to enjoy it. Gives you the "you won't believe  my soup recipe, it kicks, bro" feeling.
