The leather weight isn’t modeled in-game. I have rolls of sheep suede that’s mere 3oz a sq foot. Or ~90g/900cm2
Vs some top grain tooling steer leather that’s 12oz a sq foot. Or about 360g/900cm2
So the 2lbs leather could cover up to 10sq feet or as little as 2-3sq feet.

I think I was envisioning a Tarzan-esque loin cloth, 2 triangular pieces tied at hips. Not an Amazon basin style thong.

Gameplay questions / Re: Small(est) smoker build questions

So smallest smoker is 1x1interior. With 3x3 exterior while smoking happens on open doorway.

Not very immersive, but each to their own.

Edit: misunderstood Privateer. Smallest smoker is the 1x2 interior one.

That’s positive side of neutral. You shouldn’t have issues finding or trapping game. Neither are you getting bonus on spotting/bumping in/trapping.

Other options(not all) “gates are closed” I.e. animal frequency reduced.
To favorable /welcome in the forest message to; head this way as I have an animal species X for you there.

Heather boiled reduces fever, but heather also partially or fully neutralizes poisons. Sorrel IIRC reduces fever, but doesn’t do else.

For gastrointestinal ailments, meadsweet tea works better IME. Most of the time when using stale ingredients, I season the cooking with meadsweet flowers or leaves.

Privateer nailed it. The spot for proposed fireplace needs ceiling&floor built on the spot first. And that tile on edge doesn’t seal the structure for smoking.
The interior 1x2/exterior 3x4 is the smallest smoke-able structure.
Unless smoking in open doorway counts as “inside heated room”. Haven’t tested.

You can post it in Off-topic, no issues there.

If I recollect it right, it's beyond adjacent 8 tiles.
i.e. when you enter Zoom In view, it loads all 8 surrounding Wilderness view tiles. So you'll need 2 Wilderness tiles between stashes.

I'm not 100% on it and if your game loads tiles further out on Zoom In -- Zoom Out, you'll need to distance the hoards further away.

Gameplay questions / Re: Building a fireplace outside of a house

Possible that the fire inside wasn't heated up all the way since fire mechanic changed in 3.63.

If you build the porch just a single tile, then table on top, it doesn't even show the gray floor graphic, as the table covers it.
You can't build the porch on the corner, as the roof-floor needs 3 adjacent existing structures. (unless you build by wall, then towards the corner and then deconstruct the "3rd tile support" by the wall)

Privateer has it down.
Also, the limit isn't per individual items, but "inventory stacks"

As you can have thousands of branches (e.g. after building cabin) in a single pile and you won't be thousands of items in to the item limit, but just one 'stack' towards the items limit.

I’d say the detective has a case of stolen birds to solve.

Intrigue!
Larceny!
Occult!
Magicks!

Suggestions / Re: tweaks to the flora modding (trees)
« on: December 19, 2020, 06:00:30 PM »
To test the flora modding, and to flush the old/bad flora; I’d personally use save scumming on test character.

  • Start Test character
  • Backup Test
  • Mod flora
  • Start Urw.exe
  • Test
  • Restore backed up save
  • Repeat from 3

Suggestions / Re: Walking through the fire message

Change the warning text to: “ you can’t walk through fire, which will burn another <time left to burn down>

For faster check than F3, you can use xlowercase then direction. Benefit: no need to Escape from ‘look at’ mode. I.e. one less key press. Or 33% key pressing reduction  ;D

Bug reports / Re: Zoom In during spring, thin ice

@PALU , my toon was staying off ice. Spruce mire on Wilderness map. Enter in to water portion on the spruce mire, facing the river (which cuts pretty deep on the in-bend corner)

The issue here is the placement when Zooming In. When facing water, the character gets placed towards the waters edge; if facing water on Wilderness map. Unlike entering Zoom In facing non-water, the character gets placed middle of the tile.

No watercraft (the river was frozen night before, with weak ice warnings), no skis.
Just Zoom In on to very thin ice due ingame mechanic/bug when facing water.

for next update:

Leather loin cloth
call for cord is now for 4 ft not "1 cord" which could be 15ft

I don’t see the exact need of requiring ‘cord’
Loincloth should be fine with rope or withes as well as cord.
Or even tying corners, sides, scraps of the leather on the hips should do.
